“Father God, this is the day you have made. We come to the Word of God to receive from you, to drink from “the fountain of living water,” to be refreshed and renewed by the Holy Spirit. As we read the words of the prophet Jeremiah, help us to know the imminent danger and destruction of going our own way. As we read from the book of Hebrews, expand our hearts to embrace the new covenant that we have through Jesus Christ. Father, it says that “without faith, it is impossible to please you.” [Hebrews 11:6a] Strengthen our faith, for you bless those who turn to you in faith. Thank you that you give us everything we need for this day. It is in your name that we pray, Amen.”
